MAHANT BABA RAM SINGHJI MAHARAJ
Superficial grasping of spiritual thoughts often builds strong convictions the proponents never intended. It is such a
wrong notion that nourishing the spiritual self can be accomplished only by neglecting the body. No religion ever tried to
inculcate such a notion.
Sound body is a prerequisite for the brewing and assimilation of any thoughts, be that spiritual in nature, or merely a
tool for worldly sustenance. We cannot draw lines in a vacuum, we cannot weave patterns in nothingness. Sound body, sound
brain, is the seat of sound thoughts. Mind and body are inseparable twins.
Living a healthy life should not be the privilege of the well-to-do quarter of the society. To think and evolve, to work
and earn a livelihood, to meditate and compose verses of eternal truth, to imbibe and replicate the beauty of nature on a
canvas, for those who are in the lowest strata of life to the highest, health of the body is a prerogative, a right by birth
as a human. Socio-economic discrimination should not deprive him of what is his due. By some quirk, if his health is impaired,
we should offer a hand and let him spring back to a normal life.
...a warm, compassionate hand.
